Scanner-Rhodes Productions, IWAH Productions, Kaleidoscope Film Distribution, and Northern Film & Media announce start of principal photography of dark new thriller
INTERVIEW WITH A HITMAN
STARRING LUKE GOSS
Filming has begun on Scanner-Rhodes Productions and IWAH Productions eagerly awaited new feature film ‘Interview with a Hitman’, starring Luke Goss (Shanghai Baby, Hellboy II:The Golden Army; Blade 2 ), Stephen Marcus (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Angela’s Ashes), Rene Zagger (Rome; Hard-Boiled Sweets), and stunning newcomer, French actress Caroline Tillette (A la Recherche du Temps Perdu).
Raised in the harsh slums of Romania, ruthless assassin Victor (Goss) knows the value of life more than most, which makes him the perfect killer. But after being betrayed by the very men who made him, he must fake his own death and escape to London. Here he joins a new gangster family and finds his rules are again put to the test in the midst of a vicious underworld power struggle. Viktor is now faster and more ruthless than ever before. With the secrets of his past refusing to fade away, an encounter with a dark beauty turns his world on its head and offers him the chance for a new life. But can he ever escape the existence he was born into?
Shot entirely on location in and around Newcastle, the film is produced by Dean Fisher (Night Junkies, City Rats, Stormhouse; The Man Inside) in association with Kaleidoscope Film Distribution and Northern Film & Media. This is the second partnership between Scanner-Rhodes Productions, Kaleidoscope, The Fyzz, and Northern Film & Media. The new feature sees Fisher make an immediate return to the North East after recently filming forthcoming urban crime thriller The Man Inside (Peter Mullan, David Harewood, Michelle Ryan) in and around Newcastle, with support from Northern Film & Media. IWAH Productions is Kaleidoscope’s first fully funded and owned production company venture.
INTERVIEW WITH A HITMAN is an original screenplay written and directed by Perry Bhandal; the executive producer is Spencer Pollard.
Writer-director Perry Bhandal describes the movie: “’Interview with a Hitman’ is a complex, engaging thriller. It has a strong narrative, compelling characters and a multi-layered story which jumps back and forth seamlessly. As a writer it is a project I am intensely passionate about in terms of its realism, its emotional core and the characters that feature. It has also given me the opportunity to create a new twist on a successful genre.”
This is the first film that Luke Goss has made in the UK, having carved a highly successful movie career in the US working with directors such as Guillermo del Toro. Luke has recently completed leading roles in Across the Line, Blood Out and has taken over Universal’s Death Race franchise, firmly establishing him as a leading man. This year also marks the twentieth anniversary of his last album.
“We are grateful for the continued support of our investors and partners in getting Interview With a Hitman off the ground,” says Producer Dean Fisher. “After shooting The Man Inside in Newcastle and having such a great experience it made perfect sense to come back and shoot IWAH in the region. Newcastle offers us a film friendly environment with great locations all within spitting distance of each other. With such a tight schedule and so many locations this film couldn’t have been made anywhere else.
“This film certainly wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Luke Goss’s passion for the script and project. He moved around some big Hollywood productions so that he could fit in with this project and come back to his grass roots.”

Luke Goss is not only talented but he’s a very kind person, I just love everything this man does.May the good spirits always guide and protect him in all he do.I love you Luke. Keep up all the wonderful work you have been doing. I am so proud of you. I know this movie is going to be great. CHEERS !

On Wednesday 21st September 2011 I was working with Luke Goss in Newcastle helping with the fight scene on the stairwell, I found that Luke was a gentlman and the passion he has got, towards his acting abilities, was second to none. he listens to your cues and he will Block the scene and he will keep doing the same scene over and over again, until we have the action shot, that will work within the edit. Luke is a very down to earth person. It was the first time that I ever worked with Luke and I would work with him again, great guy. So Luke great fight scene, see you at the premier my friend
