London, UK – January 2012 – BON Productions is launching a theatrical Q&A UK tour on March 12th for UK feature film Booked Out- starring 3 time BAFTA nominee Sylvia Syms (OBE) (The Queen, Ice Cold in Alex), Rollo Weeks (The Little Vampire, Girl with a Pearl Earring) making his transition to his first role as an adult actor and introducing Mirren Burke making her debut as the enigmatic ball of energy Ailidh.
Booked Out is the debut feature by Glaswegian filmmaker Bryan O’Neil. This indie drama follows Ailidh, who has two loves in this world: spying on her neighbours and writing graphic novels. The arrival of Jacob inspires Ailidh to conjure up increasingly elaborate plans to meet him. Unfortunately she finds out that she isn’t the only girl in his life. Booked Out is a unique story of love, life and moving on.
Booked Out is represented in the US by Locomotive Distribution. Headed up by CEO Colleen Seldin who formerly handled International Sales at Miramax for over 10 years. The film fits well into their diverse slate and will go to Berlin, MIPTV and Cannes in 2012 after a strong showing at AFM.
Q&A sessions to be attended by director Bryan O’Neil and actors TBC (At least one per screening):
Sylvia Syms (OBE) (Mrs Nicholls) – 3 time BAFTA nominee and screen legend. Perhaps best known for her role in ‘Ice Cold in Alex’ but more recently she portrayed the Queen Mother in ‘The Queen’. Sylvia’s performance as the confused and vulnerable Mrs Nicholls, who believes her husband is still alive is both heart warming and heart breaking.
Rollo Weeks (Jacob) – comes from a family of actors, his sisters being Honeysuckle Weeks and Perdita Weeks, and has been acting since the age of two. Booked Out is his first leading role since his sucess as a child actor in ‘The Little Vampire’ and ‘The Thief Lord’. He takes on the role of Jacob, the boy who is responsible for looking after all those he cares about but soon learns he has to take control of his own life.
Mirren Burke (Ailidh) – extremely talented newcomer in her debut film role. Mirren gives arguably the finest first time performance in recent British film.
Claire Garvey (Jacqueline) – in her first feature film role, Claire plays the part of the mentally troubled Jacqueline with great aplomb.
Bryan O’Neil (Writer/Director) – holds a degree in Mathematics and has represented Great Britain at ice hockey. He has long been passionate about film-making and inspired equally by his love of graphic novels and indie cinema, Booked Out was the perfect vehicle for Bryan’s first outing as director.
