FREE WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR 15-19 YEAR OLDS Film Nation: Shorts and BAFTA present…Mastering Your Craft: Art Direction with Sloane U’renSloane U’ren, whose credits include Batman Begins and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince discusses the role of the Art Director and what they contribute to the look and feel of a film. Sloane will also discuss her directorial debut, Dimensions, a British sci-fi for which she also played the role of producer and production designer. Time: 12.00 – 12.45 Date: Saturday 5 May Venue: NFT3, BFI, Southbank London (21 Stephen Street, London W1T 1LN) Run in partnership with Panasonic, Film Nation: Shorts introduces young people to film-making, supports them in developing their talent, and films produced during the project are screened around the UK. VOLUNTEER NEEDEDFilm Oxford are looking for a volunteer to work with The Shadowlight Artists, a group of filmmakers and digital artists with learning disabilities based at Film Oxford. They are currently working on 8 films for screening at Modern Art Oxford, a major public exhibition and other screenings. The group meet once a month, usually the morning of the 1st Friday of every month for planning and at times for production work. We need someone to support the artists with their work and exhibitions, particularly around organisation and marketing. If the person also had filmmaking skills then that would be a bonus as they could support the production work as well.
