Shaun the Sheep the Movie has received a Golden Globe nomination for ‘Best Animated Feature’ in addition to five Annie award nominations for ‘ Best Animated Feature’, ‘ Directing in an Animated Feature Production’, ‘ Production Design in an Animated Feature Production’, ‘ Writing in an Animated Feature Production’ and ‘ Editorial in an Animated Feature Production’.

On their Golden Globe nomination, Directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzak said:  “We’ve just heard about the nomination, and just like our film, we’re speechless.”

First seen in the Oscar winning short film A Close Shave, the world’s most famous sheep and his flock have been enthralling TV audiences in over 170 countries and has proved to be one of the studio’s most popular and endearing characters. The film was shot in Aardman’s trademark style of stop motion animation and is written and directed by Richard Starzak and Mark Burton.

In 2015 Aardman won the Annie Award  for Best Animated Television/Broadcast Commercial for Flight of the Stories adding to the multiple awards won for Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit Curse of the Were Rabbit, Creature Comforts USA, Wallace & Gromit A Matter of Loaf & Death, Arthur Christmas and Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.
