The Danish Girl UK premiere
Eddie Redmayne decided to go brave with a tartan suit for the premiere of The Danish Girl on Tuesday evening.
The actor – who played transgender woman Lili Elbe in the drama based on her life – stepped onto the red carpet this week in the unique design with perfectly matching jacket and trousers.
Looking very stylish, Redmayne was accompanying by his wife Hannah Bagshawe.
The film has already attracted Oscar buzz ahead of the award season in early 2016 , but Redmayne has played it down.
Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival, he said: “As far as I am concerned it has been such a long road to coming out into the world that frankly the fact that people are beginning to see it means everything to us.”
The Danish Girl is the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener, portrayed in the film respectively by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech, Les Misérables).
The Danish Girl hits UK cinemas 1st January 2016
