A woman’s personal drama of divorce and rediscovery is juxtaposed with the dramatic and routine happenings around the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Wall follows her poignant journey entirely through phone calls and recorded messages from important women in her life – mother, sister and best friend. Moran’s work (Maternity Leave, Footsteps in Jerusalem) deals with political, social and gender issues in Israeli society. The film’s intimate dialogue, alongside captivating footage of the Western Wall and the foot of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, results in a uniquely personal and poetic encounter between private and public, sound and image.
Director Moran Ifergan will participate in a ScreenTalk after the film.
