Its been a fun and packed 10 days with special guest appearances. Meera Syal dropped in to chat with the audience of ANITA & ME, filmmakers Duncan Finnigan and Wilma Smith gave a Q&A after the scottish tragi-comedy FOUR EYES and this weekend, audiences have been casting votes for the best in European film comedy. The winner was announced on the closing night (results to follow).
The first public screening in the UK of TAIS-TOI! starring Gerard Depardieu and Jean Reno took place on Tuesday 10 Feb and there was a chance to see comedy classics HIS GIRL FRIDAY and BRINGING UP BABY this week too.
On Thursday, 12 February, for our finale, we welcomed director Chris Cooke and producer Kate Ogborn to introduce an advance preview screening of their hilarious and disturbing new British comedy ONE FOR THE ROAD.

That is why Ealing Festival of Film Comedy brings the best in film comedy from around the world to UGC Cinemas Ealing for a big celebration on 29 January - 12 February.
Advance previews include the opening night film THE SCHOOL OF ROCK starring Jack Black, the Sundance favourite PIECES OF APRIL and Argentinean heart-warmer VALENTIN. The best of British comedy features the much anticipated ONE FOR THE ROAD from rising British director Chris Cooke, and Chris Morris' short film debut MY WRONGS #8245-8249 & 117.
The cream of the international festival scene will also be on show. Dogme comedy OLD, NEW, BORROWED and BLUE, Swedish farce KOPS and German satirical comedy THEY'VE GOT KNUT will be showing in London for the first time. There will also be a UK premiere of the Norwegian comedy UTOPIA; NOBODY'S PERFECT IN PERFECT COUNTRY and the French buddy comedy TAIS TOI ! starring Jean Reno and Gerard Depardieu. All compete for 'Best European Film Comedy', the new kite-mark voted by Ealing audiences.
And with a chance to see early British comedy gems from the archive, and rarely seen vintage Ealing Comedy, Ealing Festival of Film Comedy has something for everyone.
