Just four weeks to go till the Big Event, the complete FESTIVAL PROGRAMME is now online for your happy perusal. More exciting still, tickets for all ICA events are on sale TODAY (6th February!)

Celebrating the best women filmmakers from around the globe, Birds Eye View will again be screening world-class films from world-class talent, with events taking place at the BFI Southbank, ICA, The Gate cinema (Notting Hill), and Picturehouse Cinemas across the UK on International Women's Day (March 8th).

The Birds Eye View Film Festival 2009 brings a stellar line-up of fantastic and fascinating cinema made by UK and International women filmmakers;from the top US indie films of '08 and UK premieres including Cannes Critics Week winner to inspirational new work from Afghan women filmmakers, via premieres of European arthouse gems and a trek around Nigerian Nollywood.

Our exclusive Retrospective Strand Screen Seductresses: Vamps, Vixens and Femmes Fatales - the largest season of femme fatales ever to hit the BFI Southbank and we've once again commissioned cutting edge female musicians to accompany all five silent Vamp films.

As ever, we'll be celebrating the ladies at the forefront of technological change in our innovation strand, and doing our bit to equip the next generation of Campions, Coppolas and Chadhas as we bring together an unbeatable line-up of the nation's top film training organisations (including BAFTA, Shooting People, NFTS and Script Factory), to host a series of brain-bending training workshops and masterclasses .

Opening Night is 5th March, featuring the hottest new filmmaking talent with a selection of mindblowing shorts from around the globe, including Chinese thriller August 15th and artist Sam Taylor Wood 's brilliant Love You More , plus a taste of the Vampish delights to come accompanied by the Elysian Quartet.

Birds Eye View also welcomes a truly world-class talent, Mary Harron - surprising, controversial and just darned brilliant, this is the woman who brought us American Psycho, I Shot Andy Warhol and The Notorious Bettie Page. Watch all three and meet the woman who directed them! Presented in partnership with the Directors Guild of Great Britain.

Come along to the Sex on Screen Debate with Birds Eye Review on 11th March. There is no shortage of sex in cinema, but how is it affected by the gender imbalance in the industry? Join leading filmmakers and commentators to debate the significance of a female perspective of sex in film. Followed by high class erotic shorts.

12th March sees Last Laugh: BEV Comedy Night. A fun-packed night with comedy films, panel games, sketches and stand-up from BEV/Warp X Last Laugh talent.

The sexiest BEV fest yet aptly closes with a vamped-up Awards Party on Friday 13th. Join us for a night of devilish delights - live music, performance, VJs and DJs...

Features included the UK premiere of The Heart is a Dark Forest, Grown Ups and Snow, plus screenings of Frozen River and Wendy and Lucy, with plenty of director Q&A's.
