UK’s Masters of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror
at Alt.Fiction, Derby, 28th-29th April
Alt.Fiction is a one-day event in Derby that brings together the best UK talent in science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Fans of the genres – both literary and cinematic – will be able to attend sessions by:
Mike Carey, writer of the Sandman and Hellblazer Comics, the latter of which was the basis for the film Constantine, starring Keanu Reaves
Harry Harrison, whose story Make Room! Make Room! was the basis for the classic Soylent Green
Iain Banks, whose The Crow Road and Complicity have also been adapted for the screen
Ramsey Campbell, the World Master of Horror

Screenwriting with Stephen Gallagher and Graham Joyce
The event takes place at the Darwin Suite, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, Derby on 28th April. 11am for 12pm start. Final session at 8.45pm. Tickets cost £20, £15 concessions.

Ramsey Campbell introduces his favourite film, David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive
At the Metro Cinema, The Heap Lecture Theatre, University Of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby

Mulholland Drive, directed by David Lynch, is the magnetic tale of a young actress who arrives in Hollywood, eager eyed and finds herself pulled into a strange and confusing series of events. The film is also the final screening as part of Metro’s David Lynch season.
