Classic Rider Film to Support Modern Pilots in Action

26 September, Light House, Wolverhampton

Light House is proud to host A Celebration of Easy Rider, on Sunday 26 September, from 12pm onwards; entertainment will be  provided by local band Victory, and a replica Captain America bike will be on display in the Chubb Buildings Atrium. The day will culminate with a screening of the iconic film Easy Rider at 3pm, a film that epitomises the freedom and individuality of the biking community. The event is in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance and proceeds from the day are being donated in honour of the support they offer to many bikers. Tickets cost just £5, to reserve a ticket for this event contact Light House by Tel: 01902 716055 or Email: boxoffice@light-house.co.uk .

Graham Gamble, a Light House patron and the organiser of this event, suffered a serious motorcycle accident five years ago. Doctors managed to save his hand from amputation but the ordeal made Graham turn his back on his lifelong passion of riding. However, after seeing a replica Captain America bike on sale it reignited his love of biking and gave him the courage to get back on a motorbike. Having grown up watching the film Easy Rider he was delighted to meet his childhood hero Peter Fonda when the bike was ridden by Fonda last year on the BBC's One Show. Graham brought this event idea to Light House with a desire to help the Midlands Air Ambulance Service, who helped save the life of his son when he was involved in a near fatal car accident, and also to witness the screening of the cult classic Easy Rider film on the big screen. The day will also be paying homage to the late Dennis Hopper, the on and off screen visionary. Hopper's direction resulted in the film being described by critics as a ‘touchstone for a generation' (St. Louis Post-Dispatch). Once again members of the public will be able to see a film that brought a nation together to dream and liberate themselves from the ‘establishment'

Midlands Air Ambulance relies on fundraising activities like these to help keep their services to such a high standard. The biking community hold Air Ambulance in very high esteem due to the positive affect the service has on so many of there lives. A Celebration of Easy Rider starts from 12pm onwards on Sunday 26 September with live music and a raffle plus a screening of the classic film, Easy Rider at 3pm. Tickets cost just £5 each. To book tickets and for more information contact the Light House's Box Office by Tel: 01902 716055 or Email: boxoffice@light-house.co.uk . Proceeds will go to Midlands Air Ambulance.
