Queer Cinema comes to Birmingham this November
4 – 23 November, MAC
SHOUT, Birmingham's festival of Queer Culture is pleased to announce the introduction of film to this year's programme.
The SHOUT Festival introduces a line up of international films selected to screen in the second annual festival. The 2010 SHOUT Festival runs Thursday, November 4 to Tuesday, November 23, and all films will be screened at mac.
The programme takes a broad look at queer life around the globe and has been programmed to compliment the visual arts theme of the festival, visible/invisible, which explores the lives of LGBT people from non Western cultures.
“We are thrilled to bring these films to Birmingham audiences, many for the first time. We've got a good mix of films from documentary, comedy and drama. There is something for everyone.”
For the 2010 SHOUT Festival, 5 feature-length films were selected along with the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival shorts programme.
The film programme has been funded by Screen WM with funds from The National Lottery through the UK Film Council.
