Gemma Bovery (15) | Close-Up Film Review

This is the second time that Arterton has taken the title role in the film of a Posy Simmonds novel, with the character she is playing this time being rather more appealing than the somewhat annoying Tamara Drewe.

Gemma Bovery is set in Normandy and shot in France by director Anne Fontaine, who also made the charming Coco before Chanel with Audrey Tatou, and it is an effective combination of Gallic charm and English savoir faire.
