Close-Up Student Film Festival

3 - 5 June

The Close-Up Student Film Festival is open to any student living or studying in Kent over the age of 15.

Kent has a high concentration of film and media students who produce some outstanding work only to have it lie on a shelf for evermore, gathering dust.

These films demand to be seen!!!

For three days in June, we shall be collecting the best in student film and be screening it at venues in Canterbury , Kent . It doesn't matter if you are a film or media student, or a physics student who happens to love and make films.

The main event will take place on Saturday 4 June in the Powell Building of Canterbury Christ Church University College, Canterbury . Beginning at 11am, screenings will take place throughout the day, plus film workshops, special guests, and networking opportunities.

In the evening, there will an awards ceremony for the best student films in different categories, including animation, experimental, documentary, drama and comedy, with the best overall film.

Entry Guidelines and Application form available here. Closing date for entries 5pm 20 May.

The festival has been set up to encourage co-production between Kent 's students, thus contributing to a thriving film community.

If you are a Kent graduate, filmmaker, organisation or generally interested, then please email jeanl@close-upfilm.com for more information.

Thanks to Gemma Johnson and Just for all their help, not to mention Tim Jones and Canterbury Christ Church University College.
