Brothers of the Head announced as the opening night film of the Raindance Film Festival 2006
The 14th Raindance Film Festival 2006 is off to a rocking start with the confirmation that Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe's BROTHERS OF THE HEAD, a Tartan Films release, will open the festival on Wednesday 27 September at the Cineworld Cinema, Haymarket SW1.
The film is produced by Simon Channing Williams (The Constant Gardener, Secrets & Lies) and Gail Egan (The Constant Gardener). A FilmFour presentation in association with EM media, BROTHERS OF THE HEAD is a Potboiler production. The eponymous brothers are played by rising British stars Harry (Control, the Joy Division biopic directed by jury member Anton Cobijn) and Luke (The Innocence Project) Treadaway.
Boasting a screenplay by Toni Grisoni (Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, In This World), BROTHERS OF THE HEAD is the story of Tom and Barry Howe, conjoined twins plucked from obscurity and thrust into the burgeoning punk rock scene of the mid Seventies. Their raw performance power quickly cements their place in the punk rock pantheon and gains them an instant cult following. All too soon after this the unbearable tensions within the twins' relationship, further complicated by the added pressure of imminent fame, overwhelm the band and leave the Howes brothers in a potentially deadly situation… The film will be released in the UK on October 6th.
The Raindance film festival will run from September 27 to October 8 showcasing a selection of the most innovative independent films at various cinemas in London's West End.
