Stella Artois Continental Classics at the QFT this August
If the recent summer weather has put you in a continental mood, you’ll be delighted to hear that Stella Artois and QFT, partners in creating quality film experiences, have announced an enticing season of Stella Artois Continental Classics that will screen at the QFT from Friday 11 August until Thursday 24 August.
The season includes classic films from France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Denmark, spanning three decades of work, and featuring a stellar line-up of acting talent including Gerard Depardieu, Jack Nicholson and Penelope Cruz.
Continental Classics opens in mouth-watering fashion on Friday 11th August with the gold standard of food movies, Babette’s Feast. Other highlights include the rural French classics Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources, Pedro Almodovar’s All About My Mother, Roberto Benigni’s Oscar-winning Life is Beautiful and a rarely seen Michelangelo Antonioni film starring Jack Nicholson – The Passenger.
In addition to the fantastic fortnight’s line up of continental art house classics, with a different film on offer each day, the QFT’s sunny back yard will be transformed for the duration of the season into a lavish Stella Artois Continental Garden Café, adding to the continental ambiance. In the Garden Café, you can while away the summer evenings by talking about your favourite films and enjoy a refreshing and perfectly poured Stella Artois.
Looking forward to the season of top quality films, Nicola Trainor, Stella Artois Brand Manager says; “Stella Artois, given its continental heritage, is the perfect brand to partner with the QFT to bring such a stunning line up of continental classics to the big screen once again.
“Adding to an already attractive offering, we are also offering the further incentive to film enthusiasts - for each ticket purchased during the season over eighteens will be entitled to a complimentary chalice of Stella Artois and, for every three different films attended, you get to experience a fourth for free. Some come along and enjoy a perfectly poured Stella Artois in our Garden Café while the sun lasts!”
