National Young Filmmakers Award Deadline Approaching

Are you or do you know anyone under 18 who's made a short film? Are you dying to get your work on the big screen? Do you want to have the opportunity to win £250 towards your next project? Then you'd better hurry as the deadline is fast approaching for the National Young Filmmakers Award, held as part of the 6th Leeds Young People's Film Festival.

Held on Saturday 8th April 2006, the NYFA is designed to showcase the very best of cinema produced young people from all corners of the UK. With three programmes of excellent short movies, and prizes awarded to winning films, it will be a memorable day for all budding film professionals. Also on hand will be an industry panel that includes filmmakers and industry professionals who will be on hand to discuss the movies shown and give advice about the varied aspects of the film business.

With great films and invaluable guidance, the National Young Filmmakers Award day is a unique event that will appeal fans of movies and those who want to find out more about the cinema industry.

Entry to the award is available to both individual filmmakers and groups (provided the majority of the people working on the film are under 18) from across the UK and can be of any genre. Just as long as it's filled to the brim with great ideas and creative energy.

So whether you've got a documentary from Doncaster, a Bollywood film from Bradford or some love stories from Leeds make sure that you don't miss out. After all, your next step from the NYFA could be see you heading up to the Oscar podium.
