Venture into the very funny and horrifying lives of a group of Methamphetamine users, Speed Freaks, unleashed and way out of control on a typical 3-day run, in the tragic/comic modern life fairy-tale of Spun. No pathetic requiem for a nightmare, Spun is relentless and unapologetic, twisted and dark ... A one hundred and fifty f***ing miles an hour trip with no safety belts into the raging Meth-pumped heart of America ...
There is an epidemic running rampant in America. It's called Meth. Methadrine. Methamphetamine. Speed. Millions of people, from blue-blooded preppies of Wall Street to working-class heroes of the middle-class, to your teenage neighbors, up all night ragin' full-on; are not only using it on a daily basis, but abusing it, on an hourly basis, to astronomical proportions, like no other drug this country has ever had to deal with.
Some think it an invention of Hitler, to keep his troops marching endlessly into the night. Others attribute it to the Japanese, as far back as the late 1800's. But no matter its origins, Methamphetamine, today's is the number one drug of choice of the addicted, and is a killer, not only of individuals, but entire families, and in some cases, whole towns. Made in make-shift labs in the backyards of every and any neighborhood coast to coast; in U-Haul trucks, bathtubs, hotel rooms or right in your very own kitchenette; SPEED, METH, ICE, UPPERSS snorted, smoked, eaten or injected, to give its users that euphoric feeling of POWERS lasting up to 3 days or longer.
ROSS, a twenty-something kid who can't hold a job and is a recent college-dropout, drops by SPIDER MIKE'S house, (the local Methamphetamine dealer), where he meets, for the first time, THE COOK (the neighborhood Methamphetamine manufacturer). Through this introduction, ROSS falls into a spinning, twirling, beguiling web of a 3-day run, losing track of not only time, but of his own morality, as well as his very being. Will he find it? Or will it be THE BOMB!
